The Traxxas E-Maxx is the electric sister model to the T-Maxx. Sharing the same suspension and differential parts as the T-Maxx, but replacing the central metal chassis for a molded composite plastic chassis housing a remote shifted two speed gearbox and no less than two 550 sized electric motors along with its related electronics and batteries. If you’re looking for the ultimate RC monster truck, then the E-Maxx should definitely be on your list.

The original (Traxxas model 3906) E-Maxx runs on two 7.2 volt battery packs, putting a whopping 14.4 volts through to the motors via its Novak designed EVX ESC. A short while after Traxxas upgraded the ESC used in model 3906 with its own EVX-2 ESC which is capable of running on two 8.4 volt batteries, totaling a massive 16.8 volts!
Traxxas again updated the E-Maxx in 2007 when it introduced model 3905. This new edition features a new longer wheelbase chassis, much improved transmission skid plate, new waterproof EVX-2 16.8 volt electronic speed control, sealed differentials, uprated drive shafts, pivot balls, and ball bearings, new dual waterproof steering servos, water tight receiver box, improved steering linkages, redesigned bulkheads, new hex hardware, new single speed strengthened, along with a brushless ready transmission which is single speed (a two speed transmission is available as an accessory). Also included in the 2007 update was the Revo spec slipper clutch, new battery holders, 3.8 inch mirror chrome wheels and “Chevron” tyres, and finally a new body with new paint scheme and revised graphics. The new E-Maxx 16.8 is claimed by Traxxas to be completely waterproof and safe to use in wet conditions such as rain & snow. Both models have a claimed top speed of 30+ MPH straight out of the box using Traxxas included 8.4v batteries and radio system.
